Mariana Monteiro

Mariana P. Monteiro (MD, PhD) is a medical doctor specialist in Endocrinology and a Full Professor in the School of Medicine and Biomedical Science at the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP), Portugal.   

Mariana P. Monteiro is dedicated to clinical practice, teaching and research. Her academic research is focused on Diabetes and Obesity in a translational perspective, leading a group that uses a variety of molecular and clinical approaches to understand how energy and glucose homeostasis are regulated. Concurrently, has been engaged in clinical research as principal investigator of several Clinical Trials on experimental medications for Obesity treatment.
